Oman hotel revenues increase claims meet a nine-month fall in 2026.

Search interest in oman hotel revenues increase collides with NCSI figures: RO 171.10 million through September, 11.7 per cent below the year-earlier total, as Europe and GCC guest counts weakened.

Oman Observer reported on 8 November 2026, citing preliminary National Centre for Statistics and Information figures, that three- to five-star hotels in the sultanate took RO 171.10 million in revenue across January to September 2026. That total sat 11.7 per cent under the RO 193.80 million recorded for the same months of 2025. Guest volume was about 1.51 million, 10.4 per cent under the prior year’s 1.69 million. Occupancy stood at 46.5 per cent against 52.7 per cent a year earlier, down by 6.2 percentage points.

Omanis remained the largest guest group. Their count rose 3.4 per cent, to roughly 664,100, against 642,100 in the same stretch of 2025. Europeans held second place yet fell 30.7 per cent, to roughly 289,200 from 417,500. Asian arrivals grew 2.9 per cent, to roughly 249,700 against 242,600. GCC arrivals fell 19.9 per cent, to roughly 132,800 from 165,800.

Guests from other Arab countries were 8.1 per cent lower, at roughly 69,500 against 75,600. Americas arrivals fell 27.5 per cent, to roughly 40,100 from 55,300. African guests rose 8.8 per cent, to roughly 11,700 from about 10,800. Oceania fell 57.6 per cent, to roughly 13,600 from 32,100. Full-year 2026 outcomes and any later revisions were not in the report.

Our take

Omnia Desk

Hotel cashflow cooled; freehold ownership rules did not move.

Nine-month hotel revenue and occupancy weakness matters most to anyone underwriting short-stay income or tourism-adjacent yields in Muscat and the coastal ITCs. Title routes, ITC stock and the residential price cycle we tracked in our report on Oman transport and property values sit on a different ledger from three- to five-star room revenue. A softer guest mix does not alter freehold maps; it does change how hard a nightly-rate model has to work.

Weaker European and GCC guest counts tighten the case for pure hospitality cashflow and for units sold mainly as nightly inventory. Owner-occupier and longer-let residential stock is less directly hit by this NCSI hotel cut. Coastal schemes we list at Yiti, including Fairway Villas and Sunrise Haven Villas, still need a buyer to separate lifestyle or freehold motives from any assumed hotel-style occupancy.

The check now is simple: if the investment thesis rests on tourist nights, re-run the income against lower 2026 occupancy and the guest mix shift; if it rests on ownership and use, this release is background noise, not a map change.
